It’s been a little while since our last product review on the Browns blog – but with safety being a key talking point in recent weeks, we thought we’d cover one of the newest safety products in our range, the Zarges Probat Platform Steps.
Superb quality from Zarges
The Zarges Probat Platform Steps come from one of the best access equipment suppliers out there. The design specifications
Available in eight sizes and offering platform heights ranging from 0.96m (for the smallest model), and 2.85 (for the largest model), there is a model for every job and trade. The price of the product reflects the size chosen and starts at £230.86 for the smallest product in the range.
Features include large serrated treads, for safety, 50mm diameter style tubing on front and rear sections, and a patented extra large 390mm x 380mm folding platform, for safety and comfort. Like all Zarges products, the Platform Steps are made from aluminum, ensuring their durability and promising an easily transportable weight – with the largest product in the range weighing just 27.5kg.
The safe choice when working at a height
Of course, safety is paramount when using any access equipment and Zarges have made sure to implement plenty of safety features in this product. It has 50mm diameter non-slip safety feet, and the steps are certified to EN131 – 150kgs standard. Another important safety feature is that the platform steps lock when opened up in place, offering a sturdy, fail-safe surface to work from.
The Zarges platform steps are the latest in a new line of products to help improve safety in the work place. Many tradespeople are making platform steps a vital part of their equipment in favour of traditional stepladders due to improved stability and durability.
The major benefit of a platform step over other step ladders is the top three treads have been removed in order to accommodate the platform, an important safety feature as these treads are not intended for use in the first place. The platform therefore creates a more stable, and more comfortable, working surface to stand on.
